THE latest Peer2Peer Finance Association data shows some of the UK's largest platforms are now lending more than £10.5bn, but how are they performing individually?

After the demise of Funding Circle’s investment trust, a launch by Augmentum.


“AUGMENTUM Fintech has unveiled plans for a new share issue to raise approximately £30m.

The fintech-focused investment trust, which has Zopa as its largest holding, is to issue 26,785,714 ordinary shares priced at 112p each and may increase the offering to £50m if demand exceeds its target.

It forms part of a 12 month share issuance programme of up to 150m new ordinary and/or C shares.

The fundraise is still subject to shareholder approval at a meeting on 1 July and Augmentum Fintech aims to list the shares on 4 July or by 1 August at the latest.

Any money committed will be returned if shareholders reject the proposal.

Shares will be offered via its brokers Peel Hunt and Fidante Capital as well as through fund investment platforms.

The minimum investment will be £1,000.”

3. UK – AltFi


This one on LCF fallout is doing the rounds again on Twitter:

“A cross-party group of MPs has called on FCA chief executive Andrew Bailey to resign over what they see as regulatory failures over the collapse of London Capital & Finance.

So far 24 Members, including former Lib Dem leader Tim Farron and favourite for his party’s leadership, Jo Swinson, Green Party MP Caroline Lucas, Tories Sir Nicholas Soames and Phillip Davies and Labour’s Alex Sobel and Ian Murray, have endorsed a Parliamentary Early Day Motion calling for Mr Bailey to stand down.

The £236m mini-bond faltered at the start of the year and the Serious Fraud Office has so far made four arrests in connection with the mini-bond’s collapse.”


4. US – AltFi


Silicon Prairie, an investment crowdfunding platform that offers securities as a Reg CF portal as well as under intrastate securities exemptions, is now a broker-dealer, reports Crowdfundinsider.

But Silicon Prairie is not required to be regulated by FINRA as it has received approval to operate under the intrastate broker-dealer exemption and is regulated by the Minnesota Department of Commerce.
